Last week, I successfully participated in the annual ISM Business Symposium, and although it was virtual this year, it was nonetheless incredibly exciting and informative. I interviewed with three professionals: Mr. Chris Tserng, Mrs. Jennifer Wood, and Mrs. Meredith Norins, who all enriched my networking and interviewing skills through their invaluable insights. Speaking with Mr. Tserng and Mrs. Wood, I was able to communicate my visions for my final product and gather their insights on how to refine that further. Although they were both computer engineers, it was interesting to see how many of the same questions probing computer inquiry and neuropsychology were the same, and they both helped me further define my research question. I also spoke to Mrs. Meredith Norins, who luckily was in the same field I was researching as a school psychologist.  She discussed her career path into psychology and her numerous experiences working with patients of all age, which was interesting to learn about as I hadn't considered a career in hospital or school psychology. Furthering this insight into hospital psychology, my interviewee today, Dr. Nyaz Didehbani, also suggested I look into a career into hospital psychology, as I would get more exposure with patients of all walks of life, including ER and OB/GYN patients that I enjoyed working with. Looking forward, I will conduct further research into hospital psychology and see whether or not I would like to stick to the path of neuropsychology or explore further into general psychology and psychiatry.
