Unexpected Trouble

The Friday before break I went on my 9th mentor visit, which was surprisingly hectic. Usually at the end of clinic hours, which start from 3 pm to closing at 4:30, the clinic is relaxed and does not experience a busy rush of patients. However, in some days where surgeries or deliveries may extend longer than expected, the whole balance of the schedule is thrown off and there are significant delays for all patients. Despite the rush, Dr. Bellanger maintained extremely professional and patient with all of her patients, addressing their concerns and spending an equal and adequate amount of time with all patients, which is a skill I believe is crucial in the healthcare industry. Even if you are having a bad day or are overwhelmed, you must learn to set them aside temporarily and continue to provide exceptional care to your patients, because ultimately, people are your business. Over the break, I continued to work on my final product, but unexpectedly, Part I of my project is taking longer than I initially expected. I should have been finished with this part by now, but there is so much content that I need to cover and so many new questions that have arisen from my research, that the time I have allotted for myself has not been sufficient. I've adjusted my calendar to accommodate my delays, but the deadline is fast approaching, and I'm working to diligently complete my part soon.
